A ROMSEY man has been remanded in custody until the New Year after being charged with nine offences.

James Wood, 33, of Cutforth Way, was charged with assault by beating, two thefts from motor vehicles, criminal damage and five burglaries across Romsey and the New Forest.

Wood was charged at Southampton Magistrates on Friday, November 24 and has been remanded in custody until he’s next in court on Monday, January 8.

The Romsey man was arrested in Cutforth Way in the early hours of Thursday, November 23 morning.

The incidents were reported to police between March and November. The charges are as follows:

- Charged with two burglaries in Godshill, reported on Monday, November 20.

- Charged with assault by beating in Romsey, reported on Monday, November 20.

- Charged with burglary in Romsey, reported on Monday, November 20.

- Charged with criminal damage in Fordingbridge, reported on Monday, November 20.

- Charged with burglary in Brook, reported on Saturday, November 18.

- Charged with two thefts from motor vehicles in Fordingbridge and Godshill, reported on Sunday, August 20.

- Charged with burglary in North Gorley, reported on Monday, March 20.
