A great friend of mine and I recently visited Avebury in Wiltshire and were privileged to watch, and to a limited extent participate in, a Druid ceremony.
I was very much struck by the kind and gentle nature of the Druids, and the simplicity of their beliefs, so far removed from the hustle and bustle of life today with its emphasis on technology and material wealth.
If readers have not been to Avebury, I would recommend a visit for it certainly is a magical place.
