A WINCHESTER man must pay compensation after stealing more than £150 worth of beer.
James Steele, of Granville Place, Wharf Hill, stole cases of Fosters from the Co-op in Foundry Lane, Southampton.
Steele, 33, took beer to the value of £166.46 on Thursday, July 27, a court heard.
He pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates Court on Thursday December 21.
Steele was given a 161-day conditional discharge and must pay compensation of £55.48.
