THE cause of a huge fire that destroyed a country home in Curdridge is not believed to be suspicious.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service has confirmed that the cause of Sunday’s fire in Curdridge Lane remains undetermined.
An investigation team was sent to the property on Monday, February 12 to sift through the damage and try and find the cause.
The fire ripped through the mansion on Sunday evening, with 14 crews arriving at the scene around 7.30pm to battle the blaze which engulfed the roof and first floor.

More than 60 firefighters from Botley, Bishop’s Waltham, Hightown, Fareham, Eastleigh, Wickham, St Mary’s, Droxford, Cosham and Hamble worked through Sunday night using hose reels and jets to extinguish the flames.
The stop message was sent around 9.30am on Monday, February 12 but teams remained on site throughout the day to dampen down.
On Tuesday, February 13 a spokesman for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service said: “The cause is not thought to be suspicious but at this stage it remains undetermined.”
