A CARAVAN, small workshop and two cars have been destroyed in an overnight fire in Micheldever.

The fire involving several caravans was first reported to the fire service control room just after 3am on Thursday, February 15.

There were around 40 firefighters who responded to the scene on Basingstoke Road in Micheldever, coming from Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover.

Everyone was safely out of the caravans and vehicles involved.

Due to a limited water supply in the area, additional water carrier vehicles were summoned from Andover and Eastleigh.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the flames which were extinguished by 5am, when crews began to dampen down.

Firefighters began to leave the scene following the stop message at 6.30am.
