A KEY road in Romsey has re-opened following two weeks of works.
Winchester Road re-opened over the weekend, although drivers were left confused by the closure signs still being left up until Sunday afternoon.
One person posted on Romsey News and Information: “Winchester Road is open again. Nobody around at the moment but is there any chance of someone removing the "Road Closed" signs.”
The road was blocked between Botley Road and the Sun Inn for Wilson Homes to complete connection works.
The 24/7 closure did cause some confusion, with the landlord of The Sun Inn, Ben Hathaway, saying people used the pub like a “roundabout” due to not understanding the closure signs.
An official public notice by Hampshire County Council incorrectly said the closure would be between Botley Road and Bridge Road, when in fact it was 100 yards to the east.
