Actor Andrew Scott is set to shine in a cinema screening of National Theatre Live’s Vanya at Theatre Royal Winchester on March 9.
Scott's performance in this production has received a commendable review from the Evening Standard, describing his performance as ‘an acting masterclass', and involves a multi-layered portrayal of characters in a new adaption of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya.
Uncle Vanya was adapted by playwright Simon Stephens, recognised for his work in the Olivier Award-winning adaptation of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
Taking the leading role in the director's chair was Sam Yates, celebrated for his previous works such as Glengarry Glen Ross at Playhouse Theatre, London with actor Christian Slater, and East is East, Trafalgar Theatre, London featuring Jane Horrocks.
The screening showcases the production filmed live during its fully booked run in London’s West End.
The film has a classification for viewers of 15 years and older, anyone younger than 15 years of age will not be admitted.
National Theatre Live: Vanya features at Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday, March 9 at 7pm.
