A DOG owner has appeared in court after an incident at a petrol station when a woman was savaged.
Tadeusz Kowalewicz, 53, was accused of having a dangerous dog, a Japanese Akita, which was out of control at the Monks Brook service station in Passfield Avenue, Eastleigh.
Kowalewicz, of Kelvin Road, Eastleigh, pleaded not guilty and his case at Southampton Crown Court was adjourned until the New Year.
Judge Tom Longbotham reinforced a bail condition that if he took the dog outside and if children were present on private property, it would have to be muzzled and put on a lead.
The charge follows an incident in which Kay Cossey suffered deep wounds that went through to the bone.
She had gone to the service station with her husband to buy a pint of milk.
