A NEW rector will be inducted this week in Sherfield English.
The induction service for the Rev Chris Pettet as rector of Wellow and Sherfield English will take place at St Leonard’s Church, on Tuesday (February 21) at 7pm.
The Bishop of Southampton and the Archdeacon of Bournemouth, who oversees this part of the Diocese of Winchester, will both be present.
Mr Pettet has previously been a vicar in Amport, near Andover.
All parishioners who wish to attend the service are welcome and light refreshments will be served in the church afterwards.
Parking may be more difficult as the church car park will be reserved for guests. Visitors are advised to park either on the lay-by on the A27 between the church and post office, the lay-by in front of Graemar Cottages or the forecourt of Glebe Garage.
