Speed camera stolen

A ROAD safety camera worth £40,000 has been stolen.

The static device, situated on the southbound A36 road near Winwhistle Road, Wellow, appears to have been cut from its post, possibly with a disc-cutter.

Police said if a disc-cutter was used, it would have generated a lot of noise, so officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.

The theft happened sometime between Wednesday, March 28 and Friday, March 30. Anyone with information should call Sgt Rik Grant, at Totton Police Station, on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
