AN Andover fitness centre will be raising funds for a special school.

Andover Martial Arts and Fitness Centre (AMAFC) will raise the cash for Icknield School, in Andover, a special school for young people aged from three to 19 with severe learning difficulties.

The school has been looking to get a new lift to help the children in heavier wheelchairs get in and out of the playground.

And AMAFC, based in Brunel Gate, West Portway, and run by Andy Lavery, is encouraging its members to raise the £5,000 needed for the lift to be installed at the school.

The Dawn Breakers 12- hour charity event will take place at AMAFC on 26 July. More than 60 members of AMAFC, Dawn Breakers, Mums of Steel and Peak Kickboxing Academy will all take part in the event.

The team hopes to be able to raise the full amount in one day by completing rounds of high-intensity interval training from the Dawn Breakers programme.
