A WHOLE host of vegetables, fruit, flowers and produce came under the close scrutiny of judges at the Clatford Valley Garden Club annual show last Saturday.

Now in its 26th year, the show saw a grand total of 63 categories judged, which included 23 for vegetable, 14 for produce, 12 for flowers and nine for fruit.

Children even got a chance to get involved with five categories of their own including decorated eggs and largest sunflower head.

The Mayor of Test Valley Cllr Jan Lovell attended to make the presentations to the winning gardeners.

Show chairman James Hocking said: “The event went very well, the entries were up on last year.

“The growing season has been very good, flower growers did really well.

“There were some people who entered 25 to 30 categories.

It was a good show and brings the whole village together.

“It’s an event that has been growing steadily over the last two or three years.

“It’s always good if the sun shines. For us it was a complete success.”
