THE dogs at Dogs Trust in Newton Tony near Tidworth are getting behind the selfie craze by taking snaps of themselves, with a little help from their carers.

The dogs have been getting up close with the camera to produce mixed results.

Spokeswoman Lucy Hooper said: “The dogs always love playing games with their carers, and some of them get very excited when the camera comes out – it’s like they know they are having their picture taken.

“Even the shyer dogs became very inquisitive.

“We hope this shows another side to our dogs, and helps them to find loving homes.”

The dogs that have taken part are Nica, a very loving 13-yearold crossbreed, who is quiet and sweet-natured.

Nica enjoys short, steady walks and playing with toys.

She seems to really enjoy car travel, and would love to find a retirement home where she could relax and be spoilt.

She could live with children who can appreciate that, as an older girl, she likes to take things easy. Nica isn’t a big fan of cats and couldn’t live with one.

Handsome Dylan is a two-yearold spaniel-cross who loves playing with tennis balls.

He likes playing with other doggy pals, and being out and about, seeing new things.

He would like a family who would continue with further training and would happily live with another dog.

Marley, a one-year-old husky also took part, but he has now found a loving home. However there are other huskies at Dogs Trust who are looking for loving owners to take selfies with.

To offer one of the dogs a home, call 01980 629634 or visit the centre at 45 Amesbury Road, Newton Tony.
