A TEAM of adrenaline junkies took to the sky to raise thousands of pounds for an Andover charity.

The group of four fearless fundraisers left the comfort of their by-plane seats to take on a wingwalking challenge.

Suspended thousands of feet in the air, held in place by little more than a few metal cables, Peta Wilkinson, Pauline Bisson, Dean Cleary and Emma Holland completed the daunting task in aid of disability charity, Enham Trust.

Peta, the trust’s chief executive, said: “This was an inspirational and life-affirming experience which is characteristic of my experience at Enham.

“I want to inspire more people to engage with us on our journey to support more disabled people to live their dreams and increase their independence.”

The team’s efforts raised £4,850 for the Enham Trust, which will go towards their work in helping people with disabilities to live independently and develop valuable life skills.

The charity, which was established in 1919, was first set up to rehabilitate servicemen after the First World War. Nearly 100 years on it has helped thousands of people in north Hampshire and has become one of the leading disability charities in the county.

Not content with their fundraising efforts, a group is now set to take part in a zip wire challenge on October 25.
