A teenager has been found dead on railway tracks in Andover today.

Emergency services rushed to the line north of the town’s train station in the early hours of this morning, following reports of a person on a track.

Police have this afternoon confirmed that the body of a 17-year-old man from Andover was discovered at the scene.

Detectives are not treating his death as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Our officers were called to the line north of Andover station, at 1am on Friday November 14, to reports of a person on the track.

“Colleagues from Hampshire Constabulary and South Central Ambulance Service also attended, and the body of a 17-year man from Andover was discovered. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

“Officers are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, but will prepare a file for the coroner.”
