A woman has been arrested for assault and criminal damage after a commotion on Wednesday night.

The rumpus broke out at a property on George VI Road in Tidworth shortly before 9pm and a 41-year-old woman was detained.

Several police cars and a police van attended the scene following reports of a disorder.

An onlooker who was alerted by the noise, said: "All we could hear was her effing and blinding.  It took four police officers to drag her out of the house.

"When they managed to get her into the back of the police van she was smashing the hell out of it."

It is understood that the police van blocked George VI Road preventing vehicles travelling up and down the road for around 20 minutes.

Following the disturbance the woman was arrested on suspcion of criminal damage and common assault and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
