A YOUNG Andover mum has chosen to speak out about her terrifying ordeal during a recent assault.

Paris Miller, of Cricketers Way, suffered a fractured nose along with several facial cuts and bruising after she was attacked in front of her 17-month-old son on April 10.

Since then the 19-year-old says she has suffered with up to seven panic attacks a day and that she is too frightened to leave the house on her own.

Miss Miller said: “No one should have to go through what I have been through in the last three weeks.”

The full-time mother to Danny believes she knew her attacker when the incident took place in Admirals Way at around 4pm that day.

A witness pulled the woman off her for a short time.

However, a second attack is said to have occurred soon after. Miss Miller escaped and, pushing a distressed Danny in the pushchair, ran to a field nearby.

She said: “That is when I started having a panic attack, there was blood coming from my nose.

“I felt like I was going to die because I couldn’t breathe.

“I collapsed. I couldn’t stand, I couldn’t walk.

“Danny was there screaming and I just couldn’t do anything to help him.”

Police and paramedics arrived and took her to hospital, where it was confirmed that she had a fractured nose.

A woman was subsequently arrested but released with no further action taken.

When she returned home later that day Miss Miller had another five panic attacks.

Although her panic attacks have eased, they still occur and the incident has had a lasting impact on her life.

She said: “The other day I had three panic attacks in a row and the only way I can stop it is by letting myself pass out. I am frightened to go out of the house on my own.”

Miss Miller, who has lived in Andover for four years, suffered both pre and post-natal depression but her doctor has doubled her anti-depressants since the attack.

The horrific attack has brought back frightening memories for the teen after she and her family fled her violent father when she was eight.

“I hate violence, my whole life it has scared me and now that it has happened to me, mentally it has destroyed me.”

As Miss Miller continues to regain her confidence, she has chosen to speak out to help others in her situation.

She said: “If reading this helps just one person that is good enough for me.”
