DEVELOPERS of a building site have confirmed that a worker suffered minor cuts and bruises following an on-site collision yesterday afternoon.

As previously reported by the Advertiser, a 36-year-old man was taken to Salisbury District Hospital following a collision with a Transit van on the Taylor Wimpey site on Pennings Road, Tidworth.

Taylor Wimpey have since released a statement confirming that the injured worker suffered minor cuts and bruises and was discharged from hospital later in the day.

A spokesman for Taylor Wimpey said: “We confirm that a worker was taken to hospital with minor bruising and abrasions after an on-site collision with a contractor’s van. They were discharged from hospital the same day.

“We treat the health and safety of our staff and visitors as being of the highest priority, and incidents of this nature are extremely rare.”

It was previously thought that the man was airlifted to hospital but the Advertiser now understands that he was transported to Salisbury by road ambulance.

Two air ambulances attended the scene along with officers from Wiltshire Police and paramedics.
