A WOMAN has died after being hit by a train at a Hampshire railway station this morning.
The incident happened at Micheldever Station just before 9.45am, police and paramedics are currently attending the scene.
A spokesman for British Transport Police, said: “Shortly before 9.45am on Tuesday, 17 November, we were called to Micheldelver rail station, Winchester, following reports of a person having been struck be a train.
"Officers attended, alongside colleagues from Hampshire Police and local paramedics, and discovered a woman had been struck and killed by a train.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and officers are now working to determine the identity of the deceased.
"The station remains closed whilst officers continue to work in the area."
Delays between Southampton Central and Basingstoke are expected to last until 2pm and South West Trains say current services are experiencing delays of 30 minutes.
