UPDATE: Three taken to hospital following Andover rush hour collision.
THREE people have been taken to North Hampshire Hospital following a collision involving two vehicles this morning.
Traffic backed up in all directions in Andover following the incident between a VW Golf and Ford Fiesta, which occurred in Bridge Street just before 8am.
Police closed Western Avenue southbound near the traffic lights outside Sainsbury's supermarket, while fire crews from Whitchurch and Andover and three ambulances with one rapid response unit were also in attendance.
The fire crews cut two people from the vehicles.
All three occupants of the vehicles were taken to hospital, but were not believed to have suffered any serious or life threatening injuries.
The road is now open again.
