FIRE crews rescued four dogs from a blaze in Hampshire last night.

Fire fighters were alerted to the blaze at the home in East Wellow at about 6.30pm.

The fire had started in the kitchen and adjoining extension and crews from Romsey and St Marys fire stations attended.

They used eight breathing apparatus, two jets and one hosereel to battle the fire.

It  caused 25 per cent damage to the kitchen of the two storey home in Romsey Road.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was over by 9pm and they rescued four dogs from the house.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
