A MAN has been charged with drug-driving following a smash at Picket Twenty which left two people seriously injured.

Martin Hardy, 47, of Curly Bridge Close, Farnborough, has now been charged with driving over the prescribed limit for drugs.

A 50-year-old from Andover who was also arrested has been released from bail.

The three-vehicle crash happened on the A3093 at 5.45pm on March 2.

It involved a blue Hyundai i20, a dark coloured Ford Transit van and a blue Renault articulated lorry.

Two occupants of the Hyundai car, which was travelling northbound towards Andover, were seriously injured in the collision.

The driver, a 27-year-old man from Andover, was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

His passenger, a 48-year-old man from Basingstoke, was taken to the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

The occupants of the Ford Transit van, which was also travelling northbound, and the lorry, which was travelling southbound, were not injured in the collision.
