PREVIEW A Fest, Andover High Street ANDOVER’S High Street will be rocking to the sounds of the town’s best bands and singers this weekend for A-Fest 2016.

The family-friendly event with live music, fairground rides, climbing wall and activities runs from 2pm until 5.15pm on Sunday.

(29 May) Singer song-writer Miffy Englefield will kick off proceedings with the first strum of a guitar at 2pm.

The line-up which follows includes a varied mix of Andover’s young, up and coming artists to the established old guard.

Following Miffy to the stage will be percussive guitar playing Dale Zeffertt and thereafter the talent will just keep coming including young country artist Alex Krupa who will treat the crowds to both original and classic country tunes.

Singer songwriters, Hannah Cutts, Hannah Bolsover, Stewart Saunders and Aaron Sibley will don their guitars for their solo performances and By Wednesday, the young four-piece band will liven up proceedings with some blues and rock.

Last to hit the stage and closing the 2016 event will be Nokando, the local covers band. Recognised as one of Andover’s long established, top flight rock bands Nokando are known for their varied performances.

Event manager Chris Gregory from the Andover Town Partnership said: “The line-up announced promises A-Fest visitors an afternoon of varied music.

“We’re excited to be supporting a number of Andover’s young and up and coming performers as well as handing the stage over to some seasoned artists.

“Everything is in place, with the music, stands, fairground rides and climbing wall to offer families a great free event on the Bank Holiday weekend.”

A-Fest is being organised by Andover Town Council, with the support of the Town Centre Partnership, Test Valley Borough Council, Andover College, Enham Trust and Test Valley Community Services.

Funds will also be raised on the day for Enham Trust and Papyrus .
