POLICE are investigating following the theft of £40,000 worth of golf equipment from a Test Valley shop.

The store, 121GOLFShop, in Romsey, had a large selection of high value golf clubs stolen between 10.10pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday 13 October.

Officers say three men wearing balaclavas left a white van before breaking into the store.

Some of the stolen goods included Taylor Made M1 drivers, limited edition Cobra Arsenal Football Club Drivers, Cobra Fly-z drivers with blue heads and Cobra Fly-z+ drivers with orange heads.

Hampshire Police has released pictures of golf clubs similar to those that were taken.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at this time.

Police would also like to hear from anyone who saw a white Ford Transit Van parked outside the shop, or driving around the area at this time.

PC Brad Manning said: “This offence involved a lot of high value equipment being stolen.

"All of the store’s golf woods and putters were taken in the burglary.

“The most unique items include the Arsenal golf clubs, of which there are only 500 available.

"Each one is numbered out of 500 on the head, so are very identifiable.

“As the stolen clubs are new drivers they should all come with a head cover - the sock that protects the top - and a wrench/tool.

"None of the head covers or tools were stolen, so I would urge members of the public to be wary of anyone selling clubs of this description on their own without the additional kit.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Manning on 101, quoting crime reference number 44160386383, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
