AN ANDOVER pair have been fined after they were caught illegally fishing in Wherwell.
Owen Murphy and Shelbie Heron, both of Millway Road, pleaded guilty to breaching the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act while at Golden Pond, Wherwell, on 5 June.
The pair fished or took fish otherwise than in accordance with a licence by means of a rod and line
Murphy, 24, was fined £145 at a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court last week.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £127 and a £20 victim surcharge.
Heron, 22, whose hearing also took place last week, was fined £27 and ordered to pay costs of £50.
She was ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
