TEN cars have been broken into around Tidworth and Ludgershall since November.

Wiltshire Police's Community Policing Team (East) are investigating a series of 38 car break-ins across the area with 10 occurring in the Tidworth, Ludgershall and Netheravon areas and a further 28 reports received from the Amesbury, Shrewton, Bulford and Winterbourne Gunner areas.

The most recent break-in occurred at the polo fields in Perham Down shortly after midday on Friday, January 13, where the window of a Renault Clio was smashed and a wallet stolen along with a white and gold iPhone 6.

This followed a similar incident at around 9.30am that same morning when the window of a blue Honda was smashed in Newton Tony and a handbag stolen.

Two suspects seen driving a green Ford Focus around the time of the incident are described as white men, aged in their 20s, one was wearing a black beanie hat and a dark jacket.

PC Lyndsey Smith is investigating both these offences.

PC Richard Chula is also appealing for information on an incident which occurred in Wylye at about 6.30pm on December 21where two people attempted to break into a Honda Accord which was parked off Dinton Road but were disturbed by a resident and ran off towards the village.

The suspects are described as wearing dark coloured clothing and carrying what was believed to be a cutting tool.

All incidents involved cars being broken into and items stolen with the majority of offences occurring overnight.

A number of incidents took place during the day at local beauty spots popular with walkers.
