A LUXURY care home which costs over £70,000-a-year and boasts its own chauffeur-driven Mercedes Benz is set to open in Andover.

Harrier Grange, on Hawker Siddeley Way, Andover Business Park, is planned to open on Wednesday 15 February.

The lavish 66-bedroom facility, dubbed by national newspapers as “one of Britain’s plushest care homes”, is so fanciful it even comes equipped with its own salon and cinema.

Other luxuries include an on-site chef to prepare meals, secure private gardens and a chauffeur who can ferry residents into town.

But the ‘all-inclusive’ luxury doesn’t come cheap.

Weekly fees start at a firm £1,350, meaning the lowest yearly price is just over £70,000 a year.

However Harrier Grange Care home director, Kay Kelly, has defended the high-price, saying the all-inclusive home has “no hidden costs”.

She said: “The fact that Harrier Grange is an ‘all inclusive’ care home gives residents and their family total peace of mind because they know everything is covered in the weekly fee, with no hidden costs.

“Many care homes promote their services and facilities but all come at a premium.

“On top of weekly fees these additional extras can soon add up.

“We want our residents to be able to experience all that Harrier Grange has to offer, and enjoy all of the wonderful facilities here, from having your hair done to watching a film in the cinema room or enjoying a glass of wine with dinner without a worry of cost.”

Talking about the facilities, she added: “Our ethos is to provide a luxury lifestyle and the highest quality of life to each and every one of our residents.

“From the moment you enter Harrier Grange you realise the contrast to standard care homes.

“We have invested heavily in a full range of superb facilities and the accommodation has been carefully designed to meet both healthcare and privacy needs of our residents.”
