A GANG of youths has been knocking on doors and pelting unsuspecting residents who answer with eggs.
Police say they are treating the incidents, in Baughurst, north Hampshire, as assault.
In a statement, Basingstoke District PCSO John Dullingham said: "On the evening of Wednesday 8th March between 18.30 - 20.00 hours in Wigmore Road, Heather Drive, Hangar Road and Minter Court, a number of residents called police reporting a group of youths walking round the area knocking at doors, when the doors were answered the youths pelted the resident with eggs.
"All these incidents are being treated as assaults.
"If you have any information regarding these reports please contact the 101 number for Hampshire Police quoting incident number 44170087974."
