A COUNCIL is looking for people to apply for a place on one of its "exciting" apprenticeship schemes.

Test Valley Borough Council has a number of apprenticeships available this year in a range of services, including housing, environmental health and customer Services.

The new roles and training will be ideal for anyone looking to gain valuable experience in areas such as customer service or grounds maintenance.

Apprentices will be able to learn on the job, while studying for a relevant NVQ such as business administration, customer services or even a level two qualification in horticulture.

Successful applicants will also work alongside other apprentices on small projects and take part in a monthly skills programme, which includes topics like project management, communication and presentation skills.

Leader of the council, councillor Phil North, said: “Test Valley Borough Council has an excellent apprenticeship programme that invests in each person to help them further their skills and their study.

"Anyone who is interested in studying and working at the same time can apply, so I would encourage people to read more about the roles available.

"I look forward to welcoming the successful applicants to the council.”
