THIS year’s Whitchurch Parish Fete will be taking place next weekend, with memories of the 70s ringing with the promotion this year.
After an appeal on social media for people’s memories of the fete, Chrissie Ferngrove submitted the above picture of the parish fete in 1979, which has been used to help promote the annual fete this year.
One of the organisers, Aizel Finch, said: “Whitchurch is such a vibrant community and this is just one example of how well people contribute to reminisce Whitchurch’s past and treasure it. Special thanks to Whitchurch Hants Nostalgia facebook page for making this possible.”
This year, the fete will be taking place at The Lawn, in Church Street, Whitchurch, from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. There will be a selection of games, activities, BBQ, and entertainment.
It costs £1 to enter.
