A FORMER John Hanson pupil has released a tell-all book on his experiences of online dating.

The tagline for Jean-Paul Noel-Cephise’s book, 7 Deadly Dates, reads: “The true story of one man’s online search for love that only the Devil himself could have had a hand in.”

The 47-year-old said the idea came when he was talking to his editor about writing a book on his seven first online dates.

But they both soon realised they his online dating history held similarities to the seven cardinal sins.

He first tried online dating after he divorced his wife of 16 years when he was 40 years old.

The former Cricklade College student said: “I wasn’t very comfortable with being single so I started to internet dating.

“So I went on a few dates and after a while I got comfortable with being single and I was able to look at the dating experience and found it quite funny.

“And even talking to other people they had funny experiences.

“I just thought it was interesting and extended the idea to write a book and just get across the comical moments of meeting someone you’ve never met before.”

The book covers fours years of Mr Noel-Cephise online dating life and took about a year to write.

On advice to budding writers, he said: “Get a good editor because everything’s not just about checking your grammar and spelling.

“Preferably one who has written a book themselves and who knows the process and how the business works, and one who can save you some money.

“And be brave.”

The part-time professional training qualification lecturer said his oldest son, at 16-years-old, read the book cover to cover and found it comical but informative.

However he is trying to stall his younger son, who is 12 years old, from reading the book for as long as possible.

Although still single Mr Noel-Cephise has given up online dating and hopes to find his next partner more naturally. However he already has an idea for his next book: 7 Deadlier Dates.

Copies of the book can be bought on Amazon. For more information, visit 7deadlydates.com.
