Coffee, cake and other delectable delights were on offer as Andover took on the World's Biggest Coffee Morning last week.

Businesses, organisations and residents around the town helped to raise money on behalf of cancer charity, Macmillan on Friday.

Last year alone the charity event raised £29.5 million and it is hoping to raise even more this year.

And many people in and around the town took to the cause this year, including Nationwide, Gi Group UK, Graham & Co, Bridge Street Cafe, Croydex, Bluebird Care, Totcity, The Unlimited Company and Andover Fire Station, among others.

On the High Street Nationwide held a raffle and a tombola as well as homemade treats baked by staff members.

Colette Shreeves, branch manager, said: "We do a lot in the community and things like this are really important to us.

"Nationwide want us to do things like this for the community.

"It's amazing, the people who just walk in here and just donate, they're really generous."

Meanwhile Winton Community Academy held their fourth annual coffee morning, which took place over two days.

And recruiting company, Gi Group UK, of Bridge Street, held their event as it is the business' charity of the year.

Hundreds of cakes were baked and additional fundraisers were organised, including head shaving, raffles, leg waxing and a sponsored silence.

The fundraising continued this week and the school hopes to reach its £1,000 target by today (Friday).
