The Royal Mail has announced its latest Christmas posting dates for various global destinations as early as next week.

For those loved ones abroad in South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, USA and Canada to get deliveries in time for Christmas Day, cards, letters and parcels must be posted as international economy surface mail by Thursday 12, October.

Royal Mail has been planning Christmas since the beginning of the year and Christmas has already kicked off with economy mail posting dates.

Royal Mail head of network Andy Pickering said: “In the modern world, it is easy to forget that it can still take a long time to reach some destinations by land and sea.

“We don’t want anyone to be disappointed if they are waiting for Christmas mail.  As always, we urge customers to post all mail as early as possible as Royal Mail builds up to its busiest time of year.”

Recommended posting dates for international standard (airmail) and tracking and signature services are typically in early December and will be announced at a later date.
