THE occupants of a house in Andover were evacuated last night as fire ripped through the upper part of the building.
Road closures were in place around King George Road after fire crews were called to the blaze at a terraced property shortly before 9pm.
All occupants were evacuated as firefighters tackled flames and smoke spreading throughout the first floor and roof space of the building.
The fire also spread to the roof space of an adjacent property.
Firefighters from Andover, Whitchurch, Winchester, Basingstoke, Sutton Scotney and Rushmore were on scene for around two hours along with a crew from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Hampshire police coordinated road closures in the area and guarded the property once fire crews had left the scene.
Investigations are now being carried out into how the fire started but the cause is not known at this time.
