POLICE have appealed for witnesses after three men were acting suspiciously, picking watercress out of the River Test.
Shortly after 5am on Monday morning, officers say three males were seen acting in a suspicious manner by the river that runs along Nelson Close in Stockbridge.
They were described as wearing rugged clothes, dirty in appearance, and one of the males was not wearing any shoes, police say.
They added that the men appeared to be gathering watercress from the river.
A Hampshire Constabulary statement read: "It's believed they left the location in the direction of the High Street.
"Police conducted an area search but were unable to find these males." Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting the reference 44180226813.
