AN ANNUAL flower and summer show went ahead last weekend despite the driest period of weather for decades.
Members of the Broughton and Bossington Horticultural Society gathered at Manor Farm, in Broughton, where a range of colourful flower arrangements, giant marrows, long beetroots and parsnips were on display.
Cakes were baked, jams were made while the weather had affected the length of runner beans which struggled to reach 10 inches rather than the usual 16.
The society’s chairman Nick Jones said: “It is one of the best community events in the village and an excellent show was produced.
“Winners were young and old, not just from Broughton and Bossington but from Andover and the surrounding villages.”
