IT was all the fun of the fete for care home residents and families.

Willow Court Nursing Home opened its doors to welcome the community on Saturday for its annual summer fair.

Youngsters enjoyed a variety of activities such as a bouncy castle, face painting and hook-a-duck.

There was also the usual fete favourites including a raffle, tombola and craft and cake stalls.

But, children were also able to have a go at learning CPR and were given certificates to confirm their new skill.

Manager Jo Badby said: “The day went really well and we had a lot of fun. It is a way of linking with the community and those who came enjoyed themselves. We have had a lot of Facebook messages from people who loved the day.”

Furry friends did not miss out on being part of the day either as the home ran a perfect pooch competition.

But due to the heat, owners were asked to bring photos of their pets and these were judges by fete-goers, with the winner picked out as a red setter named Hunter.

The money raised will fund residents’ activities, trips and entertainment.
