ANDOVER and Essex may seem like worlds apart but they have taken a step closer in the business world after a reality television personality called in on Andoverian specialists.

Amy Childs, who made her name as a beauty therapist in The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE), asked for help from Andover’s Avalon Couches, based in Glenmore Business Park, for her new reality show It’s All About Amy.

The new Channel 5 show follows the 21-year-old model and beautician around as she prepares for the opening of her very own beauty salon in Essex.

And thanks to Avalon Couches, a treatment bed manufacturer, Amy’s customers can relax and enjoy their treatments in comfort. In the second series of TOWIE, Amy mentioned how painful it was for ladies with large breasts to lie on their front when having a massage and wanted a treatment bed that made it more comfortable.

After watching the programme, Debbie Pearson, manager of Avalon Couches, got in touch with Amy and told her that Avalon could design these very beds.

Debbie said: “When I heard Amy mention how painful it is for ladies with large breasts to lie on their front, straight away I thought ‘we can do that’.

“We’ve designed a bed with a removable section for the breasts to rest and be supported, which makes all the difference.”

Debbie was featured on the second episode of It’s all About Amy showing the beautician the prototype model of the unique Volupturest.

Debbie said: “Once Amy saw the bed and tried it out herself, she loved it. No other company manufactures this kind of bed.

“And since the show our Volupturest bed is now widely known as the ‘boob hole bed’. It’s unique to Avalon and is changing the salon experience for some people.”

The Volupturest comes in a wide range of colours and has additional support cushions for the neck and head, including bolsters to match the bed.
