A POPULAR annual charity event, which gives walkers the chance to stroll through a private estate, will take place this month.

The Woofs and Wellies fundraiser will take place on Sunday, April 27 in the grounds of the Earl of Portsmouth’s Estate, at Farleigh Wallop.

The walk, from Home Farm, Farleigh Wallop, offers walkers the chance of three beautiful routes comprising of a five miles, eight miles or a challenging 12-mile route.

Last year, more than 400 walkers and 150 dogs took part in the event and organisers hope this year will be as successful and raise £9,000 towards the annual £3million running costs of St Michael’s Hospice.

Walkers do not have to own a dog to take part, but routes are not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Entrance costs £8 for adults, £2 per dog and £4 per child. Walkers, who will set off between 9.30am and 11.30am, are also asked to raise a minimum of £20 in sponsorship.
