SUPPORT Cats Protection Basingstoke & District Branch at their fundraising summer fair.

The Linda Burgess Memorial Summer Fair will take place at The Viables Community Centre, Harrow Way, Basingstoke on Saturday, July 26 from 1pm until 3.30pm.

Linda Burgess was the Welfare and Homing Officer for the local branch of Cats Protection for many years. She died suddenly in April 2012.

The fair promises to be a fun-filled afternoon for all the family.

As well as a variety of gift stalls to appeal to all ages, visitors can treat themselves to some of the homemade cakes and biscuits from the bake sale, purchase raffle tickets to win a range of prizes or buy a large range of Cats Protection goods.

Hilary Wells, branch co-ordinator said: “The fair is a great opportunity to have some fun whilst supporting the charity which finds new homes for the many unwanted and abandoned cats that come into its care.

“Entry is 50p or a donation of a tin of cat food, so please come along and give us your support.”

Can you offer Freddy a home?

Cats Protection Basingstoke and District Branch are currently caring for more than 25 cats looking for loving homes locally. One of the cats currently looking for his forever home is Freddy, who is four years-old and came to the charity as a stray.

He's a very handsome boy, very friendly and he loves a fuss. The lady who was feeding him might have kept him herself, but sadly her own cat was not too impressed!

To find out more about the fair or to offer a cat a home, call the Basingstoke and District Branch on 0845 177 1364, email the branch on adoptacat-basingstoke@hotmail.co.uk or visit the website at basingstoke.cats.org.uk.
