SCOUTS, Cubs and Beavers from Basingstoke were among thousands from across Hamp-shire who joined together for a celebratory day at a theme park.

The youngsters visited Paultons Park, at Ower, near Romsey, where they helped to generate funds for BBC Children in Need.

To celebrate the 10th year of the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers visiting the park, they were joined by Children in Need mascot Pudsey Bear, who posed for pictures with them.

The BBC was there to film the fun, and create a time-lapse video showing the members donating their spare change to fill in the outline of a giant Pudsey Bear, which will be donated to the charity.

Angela Walker, Beaver section leader at Rooksdown, said: “We have visited Paultons Park every year for the last 10 years, and the children always have a great time. But this year was extra special as the BBC was there filming, and we were able to raise funds for Children in Need.

“Although it was raining, the kids had a great time and enjoyed going on all the rides. But the highlight was meeting Pudsey Bear and having their photo taken with him.”
