MORE than £1,000 has been raised to support an appeal for victims of a deadly earthquake in Nepal.
After hearing of the devastation caused by the 7.8-magnitude quake, yoga instructors Craig Robertson, Elaine Tennison and Jacqui Morris held a charity yoga session to raise funds for the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Nepal appeal.
Some 40 people came out to support t he fundraising event, which was held on May 16 at Sherborne St John Village Hall, which raised £1,165 for the appeal.
Jacqui Morris, one of the yoga instructors who organised the event, said: “There is a strong connection between yoga and Nepal and we wanted to give something back.”
More than 8,500 people have died as a result of the quake.
