A CHILDREN’S charity is encouraging more people to come forward and become foster carers in the south east.
According to children’s charity, Barnardo’s, homes are needed for 910 children across the south east.
Barnardo’s south east and Anglia regional director, Jonathan Whalley, said: “It helps if you’ve had experience with children, but the main qualities you need are patience and love. We want to encourage people who may never have considered fostering to think about what they have to offer. There is no doubt that it is a major step, it can be hard work and demanding, but the rewards will be immense for the children and the carer.”
