THE developers behind a new Basingstoke housing estate have submitted detailed plans for the first phase of the housing scheme.

Croudace Homes Limited has submitted a reserved matters planning application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for the first phase of the Razors Farm development, off Cufaude Lane, between Chineham and Bramley.

As previously reported by The Gazette, a planning inspector approved plans by the developer Croudace for 425 new homes at the site in September last year after the developer had submitted a non-determination appeal in September 2013.

Bosses at Croudace, who applied to the borough council for outline planning permission in December 2012, launched the appeal after saying the council took too long to make a decision.

Despite this, borough councillors still had to comment on what they would have decided and they raised concerns saying the site would be isolated, without a sense of community and there were fears about the impact of the new development on existing facilities in Chineham and Bramley.

As part of the application, Croudace said the first phase of the housing scheme, which will be called Vyne Park, would provide 143 new homes, including 85 for private sale and 58 affordable homes for sale and to rent.

The development will provide five five-bedroom homes, 93 fourbedroom homes, 184 threebedroom homes, 42 two-bedroom homes, five two-bedroom flats and 96 one-bedroom flats/ maisonettes.

The application says: “Our proposals for Vyne Park will take on a more relaxed rural form with houses set in large plots with greater areas of landscaping to soften the built form.”
