A WOMAN has been arrested after allegedly trespassing on a Basingstoke railway.
British Transport Police were called to Basingstoke Railway Station and delays to train services were reported after the incident, which happened at about 3.40pm yesterday.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Our officers were called to Basingstoke Railway Station on Tuesday, 10 November, to reports of a person on the tracks.
“The call came into police at 3.38pm. Colleagues from Hampshire Police attended.
“A woman was arrested on suspicion of railway trespass. She is currently in police custody.”
South West Trains said services may be cancelled, delayed or revised and said: "We are sorry for the extra time this is causing to your journey this afternoon.”
