OFFICERS investigating a fatal road traffic incident in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A Lotus 2eleven was travelling north along the A340 at about 3.50pm yesterday when it is believed the driver had a medical episode.
The car was involved in a minor collision with a Ford Focus on the Thorney Croft roundabout, on the junction of the B3400 Churchill Way West and A340 Ring Way West, before coming to a standstill on the embankment near Milestones Museum.
The 57-year-old driver of the Lotus was treated at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, where he died.
The next of kin has been informed.
