HAMPSHIRE residents have woken up to a sprinkling of snow this morning.
A light dusting has been falling across the county, settling on higher ground.
The Met Office forecasts "sleet and snow showers, perhaps leading to temporary slushy accumulations in places".
However the weather experts say the snow is unlikely to last.
It added: "These wintry showers should turn to rain later, as temperatures rise a little. Significant wind-chill in fresh northeasterly wind."
For tonight, it says: "Many areas cloudy and breezy with further showers and some longer spells of rain or sleet, possibly turning to snow temporarily over the South Downs.
"Icy patches developing later."
