TEST Valley Men’s Shed has received a National Lottery grant for thousands of pounds to help continue their work.
The cause received £4,136, and the moment they got the grant will be broadcast on BBC One on Wednesday, 27 September at 10.45pm.
The Laverstoke- based project offers a space where older men can gather and work on practical projects with the aim of combatting loneliness and isolation. The National Lottery Awards for All grant will allow the group to fit a functioning workshop with benches, tools, dust extraction and lighting.
Bob Hough from Test Valley Men’s Shed said: “We were absolutely blown away. Since launching last year, our membership has grown rapidly and there’s a real spirit forming between the members who have persevered to make our building usable.
“The funding will make a huge difference to the future of the project.”
