A CHARITY trustee has taken a trip to parliament.
Trustee of Heartburn Cancer UK (HCUK) and chief executive officer of Basingstoke-based Absolutely Offices, Beryl Huntingdon, attended a reception organised by Cancer52 at the Houses of Parliament.
The reception was hosted and addressed by chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary group on cancer John Baron MP, with the objective to raise awareness of rare cancers amongst MPs.
Beryl was accompanied by Rita Phillips, HCUK trustee and Caroline Sutton, HCUK national coordinator.
Cancer52 is an alliance of nearly 100 cancer charities who see a better future for people affected by rare cancers.
Beryl said: βIt was a pleasure to join Cancer52 at their reception and discuss such an important issue. We need to be doing a far better job of raising awareness of the cancers which affect so many of us. If anyone suffers with persistent heartburn they must visit their GP.β
