PEOPLE from different faiths and community groups joined together to take a stroll on Sunday.

The annual Interfaith Walk featured people from community groups and a wealth of different faiths gathering in War Memorial Park.

Organised by the Basingstoke Multicultural Forum (BMF) and Faith Leaders Forum, the event sees residents of all backgrounds walk from the park, through the Top of The Town and on to the Willis Museum in a show of solidarity.

The annual walk aims to promote harmony and friendship among people of different faiths in Basingstoke.

Once the group arrived at the Willis Museum in the Top of The Town, they joined in silent prayer and contemplation for peace as an act of solidarity.

This year, faith leaders and community members were joined on the walk by the current mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillor Sean Keating as well as the police and crime commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Michael Lane.

After the prayer, the Interfaith Walk continued on to the Basingstoke Irish Centre for refreshments for walkers to enjoy and talks from community leaders about peace, friendship and social cohesion.
